For The Love Of Summer

I wish I was in college and had loads of money. I wish I worked for Vogue. I wish I was in New York and had loads of money. I could wear these outfits regularly and not wait for special occasions to wear them. Even if I could easily put together any of these outfits, I would feel miserable if it gets wasted on the crowd / location / event.

Which one do you like the most?

Keep watching my outfit sets on Polyvore.

Working Class

In my 6.5 years of work experience, I have acquired a lot of skills:

1. Smart work: Something which I don’t think I have understood but am hopeful someday I will be an expert in this aspect.

2. Patience / Tolerance: Ability to stay cool, calm and composed in most testing / trying situations. Courtesy - an individual called The Boss.

3. Tact: Ability to be nice to most irritating pests with whom you have no intentions of interacting at work, forget beyond.

4. Stretched Limits: I never knew I could play so much with numbers, Excel sheets, presentations and letters even though I don’t give a damn about what happens to them subsequently.

5. Sacrifice: Have forgone all selfish interests in life like friends, food, movies, hobbies and personal space. There is whole life left to be selfish, right?

I am not a journo. Or an artist. Or a write. Nor a designer.

I am a bored HR Professional.

And yet, I dress like this to work.

Hyderabad

I knew I would love Hyderabad. Somehow, the excitement of the primary reason for our visit there, ie, my cousin’s wedding, wasn’t as much as the excitement of Hyderabadi Biryani, Charminar and Golcond Fort was. I looked forward to escaping into Hyderabad’s palaces and markets. After the trip is over now, I look back and think though it was a brilliant trip, I haven’t had enough of the tech city. Hyderabad, with its contrasting dimensions – malls and narrow lanes; international brands and Lad Bazaar; flyovers and tiny markets – has enthralled me.

I roamed around like a typical tourist with the camera glued in front of me all the time.

This is me. Geared up for a sunny long day of sightseeing in Chowmahala Palace and shopping in the congested, dusty lanes of Laad Bazaar.

During my 5 days there, I allowed the sights and corners of Hyderabad sink into me. I did not mind the dust, the sun and the large amount of walking at all. I was only craving for more.

My Dotted World

Life is generally good. Except the terrible M word and now the B word (B stands for budget. The whole world knows how troubled I am because of the budgeting exercise at work). Of course, except that, everything is wonderful.

My days are full these days – with work, friends, gym, books and dreams of my new venture. Having stayed for almost 7 years in Corporate,. my hands are itching to try something else. Something more creative, dynamic and satisfying. While I have lots of plans and big dreams, putting them into reality is a challenge.

There’s nothing like a lovely Sunday brunch with a bunch of dear friends. This is what we did recently and ate to our heart’s content at Taj. I put together this outfit on that fun day. Would you believe it if I said that the top is actually tailor made and the cloth piece was retrieved by me just before the wholesale cloth shop owner discarded this pretty piece as waste? Never imagine it would look this beautiful in the end!

Village Belle

Now that I am back from my trip into the boring office routine, I am forever looking for opportunities to dress up and go out. And EAT, of course!! It is quite surprizing that eating out for 10 days in Europe / airplane / airport / various cafes hasn’t tired me out and I am still hungry for more.

Anyway, this time we choose to go to this place called The Village, which is quite near my place. The main reason I wanted to go there was because I missed attending Garba this year (yes, this year too) and Village has Garba! So I, along with my Gujju colleagues go there and have a blast of a time.

And, ok, there was another reason. I wanted to wear these brand new dhoti pants.

Paint My World

I love cloth bags – I don’t know since when. But I remember shopping for them, buying everything I liked off the rack, lest I wouldn’t get it again, since the last couple of months. My favourite ones are simple, plain cloth bags with minimum paint / motifs / print. My recent visit to Europe had me buying cloth bags from each city as a souvenir, which also make a great fashion ensemble!
