Working Class

In my 6.5 years of work experience, I have acquired a lot of skills:

1. Smart work: Something which I don’t think I have understood but am hopeful someday I will be an expert in this aspect.

2. Patience / Tolerance: Ability to stay cool, calm and composed in most testing / trying situations. Courtesy - an individual called The Boss.

3. Tact: Ability to be nice to most irritating pests with whom you have no intentions of interacting at work, forget beyond.

4. Stretched Limits: I never knew I could play so much with numbers, Excel sheets, presentations and letters even though I don’t give a damn about what happens to them subsequently.

5. Sacrifice: Have forgone all selfish interests in life like friends, food, movies, hobbies and personal space. There is whole life left to be selfish, right?

I am not a journo. Or an artist. Or a write. Nor a designer.

I am a bored HR Professional.

And yet, I dress like this to work.

My Dotted World

Life is generally good. Except the terrible M word and now the B word (B stands for budget. The whole world knows how troubled I am because of the budgeting exercise at work). Of course, except that, everything is wonderful.

My days are full these days – with work, friends, gym, books and dreams of my new venture. Having stayed for almost 7 years in Corporate,. my hands are itching to try something else. Something more creative, dynamic and satisfying. While I have lots of plans and big dreams, putting them into reality is a challenge.

There’s nothing like a lovely Sunday brunch with a bunch of dear friends. This is what we did recently and ate to our heart’s content at Taj. I put together this outfit on that fun day. Would you believe it if I said that the top is actually tailor made and the cloth piece was retrieved by me just before the wholesale cloth shop owner discarded this pretty piece as waste? Never imagine it would look this beautiful in the end!

Moving On

So things took only little time to set up. My friends ask me – Oh, you’ve been fast. Everything set already? Oh ye, what did you think? I’d live in scarcity and misery??!!!

I have taken reins in my hands and settled in fast in the new house. After arranging for boring (and necessary) stuff like maid, dhobhi, car cleaner and food, I have started exploring the new city and meeting people. Friends? So soon, you may ask? Well, lets just call it my magic touch.

Meanwhile, Surat memories refuse to fade away. I miss all my friends there. They keep calling me and my heart still swells with pleasure while talking to them or even thinking of them.

Sugarbabe

It’s fun doing girlie stuff sometimes – you know dressing up and stuff. I can’t believe I am doing this at the age of 28. But why not? I call myself a bored HR professional and I really need something exciting and fun going on to spice up my life. So, I have this really sweet friend named Krishna (and her Mom is a darling too) and we keep meeting up for photo shoots.

Sad that she is getting married and going away soon. Don’t get me wrong; I am realllly happy for her and all but I am going to miss her! I am going to miss her innocent questions and crazy tactics and loving nature.

Is the white and denim combination every going to go out of fashion? I am sure it won’t and I hope it doesn’t. I am CRAZY about denims and whites; been hoarding them ever since I can remember. Anyway, my favourite white outfit out of the many whites I have is this Valleygirl shirt I got from Australia last year. The fit is amazing – sexy and elegant and the texture feels like a baby’s skin!

Shorts are the most comfortable thing ever! I wonder why we aren’t allowed to wear them at work.
